Sahand’s travelogue

Further Afield

Story written 23 July 2008

Crossing from Laos to Vietnam we may as well have changed continents. Beginning with being threatened for more money on the bus to ending the day with a beautiful sunset at an ancient cathedral.

Ninh Binh countryside

Ninh Binh countryside

Ninh Binh, Vietnam is a city less traveled by tourists and a perfect place for me. The old structures and countryside blend together unlike the modern concrete of the bigger cities of Nam.

Phat Diem

Phat Diem

Phat Diem Cathedral is an amazing piece of Vietnam's past. The main building is surrounded by a moat with shops lining the surrounding area. It is still used as a place of worship, by the thousands of villagers nearby.
