Coming over the hill, looking down at the Jetty, there's nothing like seeing this much-photographed piece of art for the first time.
View of all four Sun Tunnels.
Looking out at the eastern horizon framed by one of the Sun Tunnels.
Desolate. Bare. Awe inspiring.
Looking back at the shoreline of the Great Salt Lake, the landscape is littered with dark basalt rocks.
The Spiral Jetty is a land art sculpture built in 1970 by Robert Smithson on the shore of the Great Salt Lake. Crusty white salt covers the dark stones of the Jetty making them look like they're covered in a fresh layer of snow.
