Resplendent Quetzal
The male resplendent quetzal has long primary feathers that appear to be tail feathers. It has been described as the most beautiful bird in the Americas and extends from Panama to Mexico. The area around San Gerardo de Dota has just become Parque Nacional Los Quetzales (Quetzal National Park).

I am a molecular biologist who loves photography. I love the small things in life (macros, sEM's, and tEM's) but I never fell in love with the dark room when I had to use negatives.
