Chambers Bay Golf Course was built on the site of a gravel quarry which provided top quality gravel for concrete construction for almost 100 years. The structures next to the golf course are remnants of huge storage bins for mined gravel. The waters of Puget Sound to the west of the course provide a scenic view of the Olympic Mountains in the background. Fox Island is to the right.
