Vaisakhi is one of the most important Sikh religious festivals, commemorating the tenth Guru's creation of the order of holy soldiers that would defend Sikhism against its enemies.
Celebrations culminate with a large parade through the city as the Sikh Scripture (Guru Granth Sahib) and holy relics are carried in procession (seen in the bus).
