Sand Harbor recently opened their brand new visitor center. It is steps away from this lovely cove on Lake Tahoe on the Nevada side. The lake water is crystal clear and cold (reaching a high of only 68 degrees F. in the height of summer.) The cove is also bigger than it looks...note the large beach umbrellas on the shore.
The visitor center offers the history and geology of this alpine lake along with a restaurant and patio eating area. There is swimming, hiking, biking, boating and walking trails available. What better place to spend the afternoon?
