We were sitting on a headland at Point Lookout on North Stradbroke Island watching the waves come in, when a pod of about 15 dolphins suddenly dropped in for some surfing. They leapt in and out of the waves for about 20 minutes. Our small group of humans cheered each acrobatic feat. Out to sea we could see humpback whales making their annual migration southward with their new calves which had been born in the warmer waters to the north.

Hi Dianne -
A great photo of the dolphins in an interesting formation. The action is captured very nicely.

This could almost be the same dolphin at three different time intervals. Very cool!
