We stayed at the Lake Nakuru Lodge in Kenya, home of one of the largest flocks of flamingoes in the world. From the doorway, the outside tables looked lovely and enticing, but as we came closer, we saw quite a little gathering of various African birds. Having heard a rumor that birds void as they take flight, being just ever so slightly paranoid about avian diseases, not wanting to interrupt their movable feast, we decided discretion was the better part of valor and reluctantly turned towards the inside and less crowded and less adventurous tables.
