We arrived late evening in Legazpi, Albay and were too tired to scout around for decent, cheap accommodation. A local friend recommended Great Pacific Tourist Inn, and indeed their rate fit our budget.

After a twelve-hour non-aircon bus ride, we slept straight away after checking in. I awoke early the next day because I needed to go to the toilet. As I was about to step in the bathroom, I gasped when I saw Mt. Mayon out our window. Known as the "Perfect Cone", this is the most active volcano in the Philippines.
