Apartment Blocks

This 70's vision for urban living now appears glum and run-down, a symbol of a future that never was. It was a bit sad seeing it this way, actually.

Actually, the architect (Kurokawa) recently ran for Mayor of Tokyo, though he lost. I suspect that had he won, he'd have somehow put a stop to the demolition. As it stands now, he's trying to purchase the building outright.

This is really amazing. It's not often that you get to see such variant vision become manifest in urban spaces. I mean, what would the neighbors think?

I was recently in Tokyo and a movie was being shot with this location and they said it was coming down soon.

Well, dang. I really wish someone would rescue this. As small as the capsules are, I'd *totally* rent one if I could.

How very cool. It sorta reminds me of the (larger living spaces) habitat apartments in Montreal..
