Without the asphalt road and the ROW lines, it could be a painting from the Hudson River School. I think this photo is a tremendous piece of Modern artwork. While the HRS paintings were evocative of romance and the pastoral Picturesque, this photo is charged, both figuratively and literally with the Modern desires or needs to carve up the Picturesque for progress. What was once a pretty picture is now a line lined with possibilities.

is this HDR? The contrasts and saturation are great. Having grown up in the Hudson Valley I know of these moments well, great capture.
