The Jackrabbit at the jackrabbit trading post in winslow arizona. For years this Route 66 stopover was known for its giant jackrabbit and its delicious cherryade which they sadly stopped making last year after losing a critical ingredient.
This first time I had a Jackrabbit run across the road in front of my vehicle was near Jackpot, Nevada. I apparently asked my passengers "if they just saw that miniature unicorn cross the road?" At that point they made me pull over so I could get some sleep. I needed the sleep because I had been driving since San Francisco.
I thought it was a one time thing. MY last road trip through the lovely state of Texas though.. my god. I can honestly say now I've had AT LEAST 700 jackrabbits cross the path of my vehicle at night. Those things are suicidal.
