The visitor center is closed in the winter, but the snow had melted enough for us to drive into the parking lot, clamber up on the snow banks and take a couple of shots of this beautiful lake and the High Sierras.
Driving on Highway 395 takes you right next to the lake. But, it's best to park your car and walk down to the lake to truly appreciate the beauty.
