Walker Lake is a natural fresh water lake in the Great Basin in western Nevada in the United States. It is 18 miles long and 7 miles wide, located in northwestern Mineral County along the eastern side of the Wassuk Range, approximately 100 miles southeast of Reno. Walker Lakes water level has dropped significantly during the past several decades due to upstream water diversions and periodic drought. The Lake is home to native trout and a critical stopover for many migrating waterfowl. As we drove south on the I-95, this veiw was amazinly grand!
