Canyonlands National Park is so huge that it absolutely boggles the mind. One would need several days exploring there to even begin to scratch the surface.
One of the lesser known National Parks, Canyonlands is a huge park very near Arches National Park. It is broken into three areas called the Island in the Sky, the Needles, the Maze. Each of these districts have a distinct quality of mesas, arches, deep canyons, giant hoodoos, all created by a beautiful river. Camping here can be a bit tricky however as the main campground in the island of the sky district does not have many sites.
