Hangar 1 is one of my favorite vodkas and checking out this local distillery was a must. I recruited a few friends, and we biked down to the Embarcadero in San Francisco, and took a ferry over to Alameda. The ride from the ferry to the St. George Spirits hangar is really short, and it's fun beating all the other ferry passengers who are obviously on their way to the distillery themselves. Free tours are offered on Saturday afternoons, and for $10 you can enjoy a tasting in their bar before the tour begins. The staff is super entertaining and VERY educated and passionate about the product. You MUST MUST MUST try the Buddha's Hand Citron.
