San Francisco, Ca.
Around the turn of the century Adolph Sutro built the elegant Sutro Baths, a large public natatorium. It was a very popular recreational destination for many San Francisco residents, until it burned down in the 1960s. The pools still hold water, but the striped bathing suit clad swimmers have been replaced with birds. With nothing to protect it from the elements the pools have filled with rain and sea water and whats left of the walls have eroded. There are also reports that the nearby sea caves are haunted. It's also a geocaching gold mine, and always a great place to catch the sunset.
