We were sitting on a headland at Point Lookout on North Stradbroke Island watching the waves come in, when a pod of about 15 dolphins suddenly dropped in for some surfing. They leapt in and out of the waves for about 20 minutes.
North Stradbroke Island is a 40 minute boat ride off the coast of Queensland, Australia. It is one of the world's largest sand islands. You'll find rugged coast lines, long white beaches and inland, fresh-water lakes. Watch whales on their yearly migration to warmer northern waters and pods of dolphins just off the beaches.
