True San Francisco Burrito

True San Francisco Burrito

El Farolito was voted best burrito in the city by the SF Weekly Best of the Bay. Located at the entrance to the 24th and Mission BART station and open past 2am, this taqueria is a popular spot for SF natives.

About this place:

This consistently excellent burritos are reason enough to return, but the twirling-meat painting hanging on the back wall seals the deal. The salsa verde ain't bad, either.

This is the only taqueria I've ever visited with a bouncer stationed outside the gate in the wee hours, just before closing. The crush of people flooding in to satiate their hunger following a night of bar-hopping is so relentless that private security must eventually be called upon to stem the tide, so the joint can close on time. Yes, it's *that* good.
