Window Cleaning at the Petronas Towers

Window Cleaning at the Petronas Towers

From the top floor of the KLCC shopping mall, in the Malaysia city of Kuala Lumpur, one can look through the glass roof at the adjacent 1483-foot Petronas Towers. It's an impressive view, made all the more interesting by the glass cleaners.

About this place:

The Petronas Towers were built in 1998 and until 2004 held the title of the tallest building(s) in the world at 452m (1486ft). The towers have retained one record though - the Skyway, a bridge between the two buildings, is the highest in the world at 170m.

Built by Petronas (Malaysia's oil company) and designed by Cesar Pelli, the towers are built of super high strength reinforced concrete making it twice as heavy as a steel equivilent.

The architectural details of the towers are designed to resemble Islamic art to reflect Malaysia's Muslim religion.
