  I'd been on Maui for two months and still I hadn't visited the popular Big Beach located south of Makena on Maui's southwest shore. I'd driven passed several times on my way to Ahihi Natural Reserve and each time the parking lots were flooded with cars and oiled-up beach goer's were leisurely unloading their day's supplies of towels, buggy boards and beach chairs. Finally, one day I had to stop and was undeniably surprised to find a long stretch of beautiful sand and gorgeous blue waters. I wish I had discovered it sooner!
