Place to eat: The Ramp Restaurant, San Francisco, California, United States

About this place:

A favorite among the locals, the Ramp is a great place to grab brunch or lunch when the weather is good. The restaurant serves traditional favorites (think French Toast, omlettes, burgers, or fish and chips) on a large outdoor patio that has an excellent view of the nearby BAE Shipyard. It's a slice of the old San Francisco waterfront, recalling the days when shipping was the city's lifeblood. The food is good enough, but the main attraction is the ample outdoor seating and the unusual industrial location.

The Ramp is a favorite destination for the rowers at the Dolphin Club, because it features its very on pier to tie up the boat. Its a nice, 1.5 hour row from Aquatic Park, and there's nothing like having sunday brunch on the deck of the Ramp, drinking a spicy Bloody Mary and basking in the sun while watching the seagulls and the ships on the bay.
