I drive by this old dock, what's left of it from hurricanes and high winds, everyday to and from work. It is one of my favorite places to visit which allows me to escape from the daily routine.
It's a small town of 38,000 people. It is very laid back and a fishing haven for the locals. It has a small post office and library. My favorite is the local Bait &Tackle shop owned by the two local dogs (if you ask the man who runs the shop). You will find people there before the sunrises to get coffee, bait and newspapers for the morning rush. The low bridges on either side of the shop always have locals coming by bike, car, motorcycles and even wheelchairs to fish daily. The most beautiful sunsets happen there with palms in the distance, marsh lands and stilt homes. Not to mention a fresh batch of evening fishing poles.
