Lulea is one of Sweden's best gateways to the Arctic Circle. Sights include the impressive ice breakers that sit along the Baltic Sea and the picturesque landscape dotted with potato farms. But the town is also an easy helicopter jump to the winter Ice Hotel and a Land Rover drive into the Arctic Circle where you might encounter the nomadic reindeer herding Sami people who populate Lappland.
