Eldorado Canyon State Park near Boulder, Colorado offers the day user an exiting assortment of activities including rock climbing, waffling, fly fishing, picnicking, and hiking trails. I have had many opportunities in obtaining fantastic photos along South Boulder Creek which dissects the park including birds, squirrels, deer, and a menagerie of other wildlife. When there visit the visitors center for publications on the park and a history of the area.

Along the Rattlesnake Trail you will see remnants of the Craig Hotel built in 1908 and destroyed by a fire in 1912. Denver Rio Grand Western trains would stop for visitors or one could take a trolley from Denver to Eldorado Springs and then take car transportation to the hotel. From the hotel sight you have a clear view of the climbing walls, the visitors center, and picnic area of the park.
