As seen from Grandview Av. on the top of Mt.
There are a lot bridges entering Pittsburgh. This one is my favorite.
I've liked it since my first visit back in the mid 80's.
When you look at this bridge, I learn two things.
1. You definitely are entering the "Iron City". It seems like no steel was spared to construct this span.
2. This bridge does more than merely facilitate traffic in and out of downtown Pittsburgh like modern structures. The portals built in 1915 feature ornaments, in almost gargoyle fashion, that honor the men of Industry and Miners.
