One of many tunnels through the steep confines of the canyon.
Both the Colorado River and I-70 travel through the 12.5 scenic miles of Glenwood Canyon. The highway utilizes a system of tunnels and elevated roadway to lessen its impact, though the location continues to be controversial. On the western end of the canyon, Glenwood Springs is a town famous for its hot springs and outdoor recreation.
