Dog and sign

My roommate's dog Bella posing ever so nicely in front of the Kennedy School sign. Notice how the leash is still being held.

Description

Part of the McMenamin's empire of hotels, restaurants and bars, Kennedy School is a renovated old elementary school that has been turned into a complex of restaurant, hotel, bars, movie theater and brewery. The result is a fantastically odd and fun experience of school themed decoration, including a bar called detention, and hotel rooms with chalkboards in them.

This is one of the best places in the whole of the McMenamin's world. I try to make it a habit to visit Kennedy School when in Portland. Nothing feels better than enjoying a pint at an Elementary school. Also not to be missed, the outdoor soaking pool, where people walking by in the hallways can look down and see you wading in the warm water.

Every time i am in Portland, i go out of my way to get here, in addition to the coolness of drinking in an elementary school, they serve cajun tater-tots at the restaurant, which are a near religious experience. I have tried making them at home but they just weren't as good. They probably put crack in theirs or something.
