Volcan Irazu is one of many volcanoes in Costa Rica. Its crater has lalgae growing in the water (which you view from above as you walk along the rim) which gives it a light green color. The landscape surrounding the crater is eerie with very little vegetation. The elevation of Irazu is over 3400 meters (10,300 feet).
