Bright colors everywhere are fitting with the heat and humidity of this tropical archipelago

About this place:

Port Vila is the capitol city of Vanuatu, a country comprised of an archipelago of islands in Melanesia that was inhabited for thousands of years before Spanish explorers arrived in the 17th Century. The French eventually granted independence to Vanuatu in the late 1800's. But European influences are still obvious everywhere as French and English are widely spoken, in addition to the local Bislama language and other dialects. The tropical islands of Vanuatu are a popular tourist destination for Australians and New Zealanders who go there to enjoy the laid back culture and tropical climate.
