About this place:
Crater Lake is located within Crater Lake National Park in Oregon, and is the deepest lake in the United States, and the 7th deepest in the world at 1,943 feet deep. It has no inlets or outlets, and was formed when Mount Mazama erupted 7,700 years ago. You can view the lake from the winding road that goes around the rim, which has many turnouts which are helpful for getting the perfect photo.
