Badshahi Mosque

Up to 100,000 worshipers can fit into this jewel of Mughal architecture completed in 1674.

About this place:

Located in Lahore, the mosque was built by the sixth Mughal Emperor, Aurangzeb Alamgir, across from the fort in which he lived. Used as stables under Sikh rule and later as target practice by the British, the mosque was restored to its original splendor from 1939 to 1960.
