I'll never forget the first time I landed at LAX.. waiting for my bus, I met Andre. "Nice shoes" he says. "Thanks," I reply "Got a light?".

"They're real nice shoes" he says again. All I can do is nod with a smile. "Can I have 'em?". Er, no.. you can't have my shoes crazyhair-man. Took me close to 20 minutes and half a pack of cigarettes to get rid of Andre. He was friendly enough, if not slightly (read: 'completely') insane. Welcome to LA, wish you were here (oh my god, hurry up he won't go away).

I've done a lot of traveling throughout the world, and LAX remains my least favorite airport: overcrowded and poorly designed. I do my best to avoid passing through LAX if at all possible!

Returning home to LAX (from Beirut) in Nov. 2007, my bags were lost. It was because of this that two days later I ended driving an hour back to the airport to retrieve them. As an L.A. native even I was delighted & surprised that day to discover Tom Bradley Intl. Terminal (were I was headed) was being used as a live movie set! How Hollywood can you get! Thousands of extras, costumes, trailers, craft services tables...the works. Travelers that day were properly welcomed to L.A., that's for sure. :)
