Stradun square in Dubrovnik's old town is really just a very wide street that makes an L shaped turn within the old city walls. In the background you see the Srdj mountain rising above the city.
Just south of Luza Square is the Rector's Palace. It was the seat of the Ragusan (previous name for Dubrovnik) government. For 15kn, you get a self-guided tour of the palace and the rather lackluster City Museum. The building is of great historical significance and architectural interest. The palace's Renaissance atrium is a beautiful space in which concert recitals are held in the summer time.
Exhibits in the museum rotate throughout the year.
