Seward, Alaska is a beautiful place to go visit in the summer. It is a fishing town off of Resurrection Bay. Martis Landing is a cute place to stay when in Seward. It is right on the water and they have boat and kayak rentals as well as guided tours via boat or kayak. They also have the silver salmon contest every August. You can with a LOT of money if you get a tagged fish or the biggest fish.
