When you're cruising the Gulf of Hisarönü with 17 of your now-closest friends on a private gulet, well-stocked with Efes, tavla boards, New Yorkers, and even some good coffee, there are very few places worth interrupting your supreme leisure to go ashore. Knidos is one of them. Though far smaller and less well-preserved than Turkey's major ancient cities, it's your own private Pergamon. Ramble through the ruins until you're ready to dive off the dock and swim back to the boat. Then go back to your nap.
