" The baobab alley near Morondava; a strange place indeed ! Imagine a tree-lined boulevard right in the middle of nowhere. The place is one of the most photographed spots in Madagascar, and I had seen many pictures on travel guides and magazines before, but only when we stopped our cars and walked through we fully realised how amazing the place was. There were people walking by, going back and forth between the local villages, and after a short while the two kids appeared, pushing their improbable, recycled, self-made wheel-toys. They came to us with a mixed feeling of shyness and curiosity; we handed over some candies, which they accepted joyfully, without the hassling and insistence that has become the norm among kids in other developing countries.

It's surprising how the people there look happy, in harmony with the surrounding nature. They don't seem to care for what is around; they are not worried about what they have or what they do not have. I believe that we still have something to learn from them ! "
