This totem is located in the center of two stone circles (not standing stones, but flat stones, embedded in the earth), which are approximately 100-150 yards in diameter. The inner circle represents earthly life, and the outer circle represents the cosmos and spiritual life.
Olkhon Island is the largest island on Siberian Russia's Lake Baikal. It is home to roughly 1500 people, most of whom live in the small village of Khuzhir. Olkhon Island is a serene, beautiful place, which any visitor to Siberia should enjoy.
