In downtown Tula, next to the former Uspensky Monastery and across the street from the Tula Kremlin is Lenin Square... home to a hideous monument to Soviet-era architecture, and (of course) a statue of Vladimir I.
The historic city of Tula was founded in the 14th century. The downtown (or "center") is a pleasant place for a stroll. Beautifully painted buildings, cathedrals, and (of course) a statue of Lenin are just some of the many things to see.
