Emperor Asoka (273-236 B.C.) built stupas in Buddha's honour at many places in India. Stupas at Sanchi are the most magnificent structures of ancient India.

Madhya Pradesh is literally the heart of India. A state know for the erotic temple carvings of Khajuraho, reserve forests and the second most holy river flowing east-west.. the Narmada. The capital of the state is Bhopal and is well connected by road, rail and air.
