The old quarter of the city is inhibited mainly by orthodox Jews, traditional, none religious, and artists. You can sense the mystic in the air, among its stones.
Safed (Hebrew: צְפַת, pronounced Tzfat; Arabic: صفد, pronounced Safad) is called the capital of the Galilee, built in the Northern District of Israel. Safed is one of Judaism's Four Holy Cities, along with Jerusalem, Tiberias and Hebron, and a center for Kabbalah, or Jewish mysticism.
My last visit to the old quarter with my wife was to sense and smell the ancient holy stones, see it's people and enjoy its mysteries.
