Place to see: Mt. Evans Wilderness, Idaho Springs, Colorado, United States

Foggy aspen.

Foggy aspen.

This stand of aspen attracted my attention due to the fog and the vibrancy of the color showing through. When printed on matte paper it looks like a painting.

I have driven to the top on many occasions in the summer and there are breathtaking views from the top of the peak. A number of other 14,000 foot peaks can be seen in the distance to the west, south and north. While driving to the top you may encounter big horn sheep along the road as well as mountain goats. Evident near the top you see windblown trees that have taken on interesting shapes caused by the wind as well tundra like areas along the road.
