Antakya's attraction is in its history as Antioch, one of the world's great ancient cities rivaling Athens and Alexandria. The Church of St. Peter is of great religious significance, carved into a cave on the mountainside overlooking the city. It is said to be one of the first Christian churches. There was something really humbling about being there. Antakya's relevance extends religiously, culturally and mythologically. It is a very curious and diverse place.
