Place to eat: Tommy's Pub, Charlotte, North Carolina, United States

Barney....

Barney....

A regular character, now dead, but not forgotten.

About this place:

Having had many owners, Tommy's Pub is stilled names the same. A drinking hole, a beer joint that caters to race fans, old drunks and whores that work for their next crack hit. A bad place.....NOOOO, of course not. Just a place to go hide.

Opens around 3ish and closes whenever. Cold beer for sure starting at $2.25. Sorry, no food really. Chips and peanuts maybe and BC powders.

Expect to get the eye when the bar is full of regulars but that want stop the bar wench from taking your money.

Tommy's is named after it's namesake, Tommy Karis, now dead. He was a retired drunk that was seen eating banana cream pie everyday during lunch despite the diabetes he had that eventually killed him. Beer was only $1.- when he ran it and served from old frigs held together with bumper stickers.

Jimmy runs it now and aside from the absence of Tommy, nothing has really changed except for the price of beer.
