When it's time for a child to loose the pacifier, some people wander out in the woods or in a park and leave it there. A small ritual which I believe only exist in Northern Europe.
English inspired, romantic palace garden layed out in connection with the building of Frederiksberg Palace circa 1697. 32 hectares. The magnificent lime tree avenues can still be seen. During the 1700's canals were dug and, a "Chinese gazebo", a Swiss hut and an Apis Temple plus a Norwegian "mountain hut" in artificial landscape were errected.
During the reign of Frederik VI the royal family would sail on the canals letting themselves be seen and waved to by their loyal subjects.
Still to-day during the Summer months you can try such a trip by rowing boat. (From Visitcopenhagen)
