Just off the busy roads of central Warsaw is Saxon Garden, a large park where the hustle and bustle of the city is lost in the trees and fountain. It is a fantastic place to enjoy the warmth of the October sun.
Saxon Garden, or Ogród Saski, is Warsaw's oldest public park. When it opened to the public in 1727, it was one of the first publicly accessible parks in the world.
It was built adjacent to Saxon Palace, which was destroyed during the Second World War. The foundations of the palace can still be seen at one end of the park, on either side of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
