About this place:

Canada's oldest national park, Banff National Park was established in 1885. A jewel in the Canadian Rockies 120 kilometers (80 miles) west of Calgary, Alberta. Canada's main Highway 1 (Trans-Canada) passes through the park, making it easily accessible to tourists. Alberta's town of Banff is also located within the park. The park is known to have 56 animals inhabiting within its borders. These include black bear, grizzly, cougar, lynx, elk, mountain goats, and bighorn sheep.

The park and city are open year-round, although some locations are closed during winters months.
