At 24 stories, this was one of the city's tallest buuildings upon its completion, the only San Francisco building by the New York firm noted for the Waldorf-Astoria in New York. It is set apart from other San Francisco skyscrapers by its steep mansard roof with gabled dormers and terra cotta roof tiles.
