Morning light breaks through the passageways in Barcelona's gothic quarters. This section of Barcelona is comprised of small alley-like passages, which wind around gothic constructions like a maze.
The capital of Catalonia and second largest city in Spain, Barcelona is filled with art and ambiance. Dozens of bizarrely formed and decorated treasures by Antoni Gaudi dot the city. The surrounding hills are crowned with fortresses, churches, an amusement park, and breathtaking views of city and sea. The feeling is relaxed among tourists and natives - something quite rare for such a large metropolitan center. Maybe it's the sangria, the siesta, or the heat ... whatever it is, it feels good, very good.
