About this place:

Wolf Haven International is a not-for-profit sanctuary and breeding facility for endangered wolves near Olympia, Washington. The organization seeks to restore wolves to some of their their historic ranges and to educate the public about wolves.

Wolf Haven is one of only three US pre-release breeding facilities for a multi-agency effort to restore highly endangered Mexican gray wolves to the Southwest. Wolf Haven is also a foster facility for housing red wolves that have been bred for red wolf recovery in North Carolina.

Wolf Haven is located in a unique praire, called Mima Mounds with large natural circular mound structures that are unique and rare. The natural surroundings also include glimpses of the Cascade Mountain Range.

Hours vary, but they are generally open weekends in the Fall and Winter, and every day except Tuesday in the Spring and Summer. There is a small gift shop on site. Guided tours costing less than $10 per person last about an hour and start on the hour. Fund raising includes the ability to "adopt" a wolf.
